Mikee is the studio director / owner. He takes care of the design, the clients, and the bills.
Andrew Byers
Andrew is our technical tech. He sets things up, moves things around, programs things, and talks either in or about acronyms... not really sure which.
Colin Adair
Colin is Raindropp's photographer. He will be setting up things like aperture, focus, usb-cables, and anything else he has to so that your photos don't look like they were taken with a cellphone camera.
Edward H.
Edward is our in-house Coffee & Copy boy. He runs around doing our errands, checking our grammar, and being disgruntled until the weekend shows up with a bottle.This Little Design Room (About)
Raindropp Studio has a shared home base between the oceanside raincoat town of Vancouver, and this little mountain town two hours north, called Whistler. We are a little design room specializing in the shaping and designing of websites, print media (posters, advertisements, business cards, etc.), brand identity, commercial directing & conceptualizing, filming, photography, and a large array of other creative maneuvers.
Our studio is founded on the principal of being a hospitality service instead of a corporate one. This isn't to say we lack the professionalism you would expect with corporate design-starch. We still carry all the professional quality solutions and bottom line behaviour anyone should expect to receive when working on design projects; we've just decorated them with the fine linens of our own happy-go-lucky wardrobe. Our dressed-down approach to understanding your needs, questions, goals, and visions all throughout the design process are suited to set a foundation for strong relationships as well as the project at hand. We like building relationships as much as the work we build for you because, well, it makes everything easier. For you, and for us. That's our way of saying something like project-client management and targeted efficiency. Although that might be a better by-the-book description, we would rather leave that kind of stuff out of our vocabulary.
Our practice is set to deal with a variety of mediums for a variety of clients. From a corporate commercial spot for Kraft Sensible Solutions, to the identity for Alpenglow, a startup construction company. From photographing lifestyle shoots for magazines to designing snowboards. Whatever creative service you're looking for, we will work with you from the very bottom up. We will take your ideas, or if you don't have any from the get-go, help you develop them, and take them right through to the finished product. Maybe you don't need a full-service bottom to top job, but just some fine tuning or final touches to your already existing project. Yep, we can step in wherever you need us to; for consulting, direction, and design (or, sure, all of the above).
